Do you enjoy supporting learners to develop their knowledge and skills and to reach their full potential? We are seeking multiple Specialist Learning Support Assistants to join our Education team here at Portland Charity. We are looking for enthusiastic and positive individuals who can contribute positively within our thriving team in a challenging yet rewarding role.
Working as a Specialist Learning Support Assistant (Positive Behaviour Support), you will have a direct impact on the learner experience, and you will collaborate effectively with delivery staff to advance and support the learner through their curriculum framework. The successful candidate will be passionate about working with people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and will have strong communication skills. Experience in working with individuals with behaviour support needs and a calm approach would be desirable.

This role involves regulated activity with our learners therefore we will be required to carry out a full enhanced with child and adult barred lists DBS check as part of our pre-employment checks.

Qualifications needed: You will hold NAPPI (Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention) level 2 or equivalent, or willing to work towards within an agreed timescale. You should hold a Level 2 Maths and English Functional Skills and ICT Skills qualification or be willing to work towards this in an agreed timescale.
Working Hours: Our Learning Support Assistants work on a 38-week contract which means you will work your hours within the college term time and then be on annual leave throughout the college holidays but still enjoy the benefits of receiving a pro rata salary. 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 4.30pm.
