This is a key job within the tax team, playing a crucial role in ensuring the Group meets its tax reporting, filing and payment obligations across indirect taxes. You will also be involved in enhancing the Group's tax control environment and supporting wider business projects with tax insights.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of tax disclosures for Group and subsidiary statutory accounts
  • Preparing and submitting corporation tax returns for Group companies
  • Preparing UK VAT returns
  • Reviewing and improving the Group's tax control environment and maintaining documentation
  • Providing tax advice and support on various projects alongside the Head of Tax

What you'll need to succeed:

We're looking for a Manchester-based VAT accountant who is either fully qualified or part-qualified with at least two years' experience in a tax-focused role, either within industry or professional services. You'll have:

  • Qualifications such as CTA, ACA, ACCA (or part-qualified)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong numeracy, analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex information clearly
  • Ideally, experience with VAT returns, Alphatax software, or preparing tax disclosures under IFRS (though not essential)
