This role is being supported through the Net Zero Careers Accelerator (NZCA), a fully funded programme helping people access employment opportunities that contribute to a greener economy. The programme supports candidates into roles across sustainability, energy efficiency, retrofit, environmental services and green construction.
We are looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Plumber to join a housing repairs and maintenance team in Manchester. This is a hands-on role for a qualified plumber who can carry out a broad range of plumbing repairs and associated maintenance work within residential properties. The successful candidate will need to be confident working independently, diagnosing faults and completing repairs to a high standard.

- Working 4 weekdays, 11:30am - 8:00pm
- Saturdays, 8:30am - 4:00pm
- Full UK driving licence required
- May be required to drive a Transit van around Manchester city centre
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification required
- Candidates must have their own hand tools
- Practical skills test forms part of the interview process
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out painting and decorating work within residential properties
- Prepare surfaces, including filling, sanding and making good
- Paint walls, ceilings, woodwork and other surfaces
- Complete minor repairs and associated maintenance tasks within your skill set
- Make good areas following repair and maintenance works
- Identify additional defects and report further work where required
- Work safely and professionally within occupied properties
- Maintain clean and tidy working areas
- Follow health and safety procedures and relevant risk assessments
- Complete work to a high standard and within required timescales
- Maintain accurate records of work completed
- Provide a professional and customer-focused service to residents
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Painting & Decorating or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Strong practical painting and decorating skills
- Experience working within residential properties
- Competent in using relevant hand tools
- Full UK driving licence
- Good understanding of health and safety
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently
- Willingness to carry out multi-skilled maintenance duties where competent
- Previous experience in housing repairs or social housing
- Multi-skilled maintenance experience
