Electrical Design Engineer - Water Experience Required
To support the delivery of high-quality electrical engineering designs for water and wastewater projects across the UK.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary design team, you will produce electrical design deliverables, collaborate with senior engineers and contribute to the successful delivery of projects from concept through to construction.
Responsibilities
- Produce electrical engineering designs that meet safety, quality and client requirements.
- Prepare electrical design calculations, drawings, reports and technical specifications for water and wastewater projects.
- Develop LV electrical designs under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Work closely with CAD technicians to produce accurate and coordinated design drawings.
- Liaise with equipment suppliers, manufacturers and other engineering disciplines.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, industry standards, client specifications and company procedures.
- Assist with design reviews, risk assessments and value engineering exercises.
- Support the implementation and recording of design changes throughout project delivery.
- Contribute to estimating design hours for allocated tasks.
- Attend client, supplier and internal design meetings as required.
- Continue developing technical knowledge through mentoring, CPD and professional development.
- Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
3-5 years' electrical design experience within the UK water industry.
- Experience producing LV electrical designs for water or wastewater treatment projects.
- Working knowledge of relevant British Standards and water industry design practices.
- Experience using Auto CAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of multidisciplinary design environments.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
- Experience with ICA, control systems or telemetry.
- Knowledge of ATEX design principles.
- Experience using Amtech, Trimble Pro Design or similar electrical design software.
- Familiarity with BIM processes and Common Data Environments (Project Wise, Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar).
