Your new role
You will join a multidisciplinary team providing ecological support across all stages of the project life cycle.
The role will involve a mix of fieldwork, reporting and client engagement, with the opportunity to take on increased responsibility depending on your level of experience.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake a range of ecological surveys, including habitat and protected species surveys
- Prepare technical reports such as Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Ecological Impact Assessments
- Support project delivery across a diverse portfolio
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Manage projects and mentor junior staff (Senior level)
- Ensure work is delivered in line with current legislation and best practice
- What you'll need to succeed
- Relevant degree in Ecology or a related subject
- Experience working within an ecological consultancy or similar environment
- Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
- Protected species survey experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Membership of CIEEM or working towards it
- Protected species licences (e. g. bats, great crested newts)
- GIS capabilities
