An opportunity has arisen for a qualified advanced practitioner mammographer to join our multi-professional team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn. This will be with a view to developing the successful candidate into a Consultant radiographer role in the future.

The service delivers both primary breast screening and symptomatic mammography. The breast unit is fully digital with two mammography units, with two tomosynthesis systems. In addition, we have a mobile unit to provide primary screening to our catchment area. We welcome candidates with proven vacuum assisted biopsy experience to apply.

The postholder will work alongside the Breast Consultant Radiologists, Advance Practitioners, mammographers and assistant practitioners to provide a Breast Screening and Symptomatic Service to patients, providing specialist clinical opinion and diagnosis for patient centred care.

You will be responsible for providing a safe, efficient and effective imaging and Breast Mammography service for the West Norfolk Breast screening service in accordance with Screening and Trust protocols. You will ensure a high-quality Mammography service is maintained at all times.

You will demonstrate expertise in Breast Imaging techniques by promoting high standards of diagnostic radiography through best practice and education and by maintaining and developing high standards of patient care and best practice amongst peers, student colleagues and users of the breast imaging service.

You will take an active role in the development of the breast mammography service in order to continuously improve patient safety and experience and will be responsible for the organisation and coordination of the staff rotating through the mammography rooms.

You will practice advanced clinical skills in mammography including stereotactic within approved guidelines and working to given protocols.
