Are you an experienced chef looking for more responsibility in a fresh food environment?
We're recruiting a Duty Chef to join the catering team at a prestigious independent school on the outskirts of Maidstone.
Working with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, you'll support the Head Chef throughout the day before taking responsibility for the evening meal service for approximately 100 students.
This is an ideal opportunity for a chef who enjoys working independently, leading a small team and producing quality food in a busy, high-volume kitchen.
The Role
- Assist with the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and evening meals
- Help deliver approximately 700 lunches each day
- Lead the evening boarding meal service
- Prepare and serve match teas and special events
- Cater for dietary requirements
- Maintain HACCP records and excellent food hygiene standards
- Deputise for the Head Chef when required
About You
You'll ideally have experience as a
- Duty Chef
- Sous Chef
- School Chef
- Contract Catering Chef
- High Volume Catering Chef
You'll also have
- Experience in a busy catering environment
- The confidence to manage a service independently
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- A passion for fresh, quality food
- Strong food hygiene standards
- A flexible, reliable and proactive approach
