A full time (10 PA) LOCUM Consultant ENT Surgeon is required at Bedfordshire Hospitals to work with a supportive, dynamic & enthusiastic ENT team to help further develop services between Luton & Dunstable Hospital and Bedford Hospital. They should be able to manage all aspects of General Adult and Paediatric ENT. The on-call commitment is 1:4 week days covering Bedford Hospital with prospective cover for annual and study leave. Weekend on-call is 1:10 covering both Luton and Dunstable Hospital and Bedford Hospital.

Key tasks:

  • Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of all patients presenting to the Hospital.
  • To provide and support colleagues with the management of all adult and paediatric patients presenting with ENT conditions.
  • To develop close links with the ENT Team and undertake the responsibilities of outpatient ENT Clinics.
  • Teaching and training of intermediate grade and junior medical staff, medical students and ENT Nursing Staff.
  • To develop and lead Clinical Research in ENT with the support of Research & Ethic Committee in the Trust.
  • To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
  • To have responsibility for and actively participate in continuing professional development.
