Job Purpose: Through excellent project management skills, ensure that Lung Cancer Screening projects are well organised and rigorously delivered at pace. Lead on the implementation of the Lung Cancer Screening programme within Norfolk and West Suffolk by supporting and informing the targeting of resources, monitoring, implementation and evaluation of the tasks by providing high quality support including complex information and analysis, communications and stakeholder management. The outcomes of the Lung Cancer Screening are key to further programme delivery, which will include establishing the Lung Cancer Screening pathway, which will run seamlessly from community to secondary care safety netting patients for follow up, it will include a robust diagnostic pathway establishing access to low dose CT.

Ensure accurate and open communication and co-ordination with a range of organisations and individuals, researching and drafting correspondence and papers and ensuring the management of specific tasks, lead reporting and analysis across a range of specialties, functions and projects. Required to maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. Participate in relevant internal and external working groups/projects, services, and initiatives which may be highly complex, sensitive, political, and contain contentious information with the aim of providing information and analytical advice to the teams. Exercise autonomy in proposing and progressing service change. Support the establishment and development of robust commissioning processes, working with providers that will ensure the delivery of high quality, accessible and cost-effective services to meet the diverse needs of the population and which contribute to the delivery of the key targets and priorities.

Key Responsibilities: The Lung Cancer Screening Senior Project Manager will provide system wide programme leadership to support the successful delivery of the NHS Lung Cancer Screening Programme across Norfolk and West Suffolk. Working closely with the Norfolk and Suffolk ICB, Cancer Alliance, acute providers, primary care, community services and independent providers, the post holder will coordinate the implementation of national policy into a single, coherent local programme. The role will lead programme planning and delivery, develop and monitor implementation plans and trajectories, oversee governance and performance reporting, manage risks and issues, and support the development of robust diagnostic pathways and equitable population rollout. The post holder will support local transformation projects and work with commissioners and providers to secure value for money while improving service quality and patient outcomes. Using data and analysis to inform decision making, the post holder will provide assurance against national milestones, support financial oversight, and build effective relationships across partner organisations to deliver high quality, patient centred services. The role will also promote continuous improvement, innovation and the sharing of learning across the system.
