You will be joining a specialist and privately-owned contractor based in Loughborough operating across the water, highways, rail and energy sectors.
This multi-accredited and well-established contractor has a strong reputation for delivering complex and high-quality projects across the UK and offers a strong pipeline of work as well as excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development.
As part of their continued growth, they are actively looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a variety of projects.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Loughborough office.
Your new role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial and financial management of projects from inception through to completion.
Working alongside Contract Managers and Project Managers, you will help ensure contracts are administered effectively, commercial processes are followed and projects remain financially robust throughout their lifecycle.
Key responsibilities will include
- Supporting Contract and Project Managers with day-to-day commercial activities
- Assisting with valuations, applications for payment and pricing variations
- Maintaining accurate financial reporting and cost value reconciliations
- Monitoring project costs and identifying any commercial issues or anomalies
- Supporting procurement activities and liaising with internal departments
- Assisting with final accounts, contract reviews and commercial reporting
- Building strong working relationships with clients, project teams and external stakeholders
- Developing your knowledge of NEC contracts whilst contributing to successful project delivery.
- What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you must bring
- Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar qualification) or experience equivalent
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor managing the commercial lifecycle of heavy civils projects
- Sound understanding of NEC3 and/or NEC4 forms of contract
- Strong commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Full UK driving licence.
