Are you looking to enhance your current clinical skills whilst beginning the process of developing into becoming a senior nursing leader? We are looking for a Senior Staff Nurse at Band 6 level to join an enthusiastic and motivated T08 Team who are taking on a new and exciting challenge.
T08 is a busy 43-bedded acute medical ward with a diverse mix of acuity and complexity of patients. It specialises in Infectious Diseases, Respiratory Medicine and Rheumatology. T08 ward is led by two Ward Sisters and 4 Deputies. Staff work across the whole floor and across all specialities. There are two sides to the ward; the north side is predominately bay beds and the south side consists predominantly of side rooms. The T08 side rooms are Negative Pressure therefore we care for patients with a range of infections including TB, potential VHF and infections in returning travellers, and additionally provides the inpatient service to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases. Within the Respiratory bed base T08 cares for patients who have an acute respiratory condition and may require Non‑Invasive Ventilation and those who have Tracheostomies.
T08 prides itself on a strong and supportive Multi-disciplinary Team and staff have the opportunity to work with specialist Consultants and Specialist Nurses who are leading experts in their fields. T08 is interested in your career development wherever that path may take you. You will have the opportunity to attend study days within specialist areas and complete further education courses if you wish. Courses that we support staff with on the ward include a HDU course and the Diploma in Tropical Nursing.
We require a minimum of two years’ post‑registration experience in an acute hospital inpatient setting or other equivalent. Please note, we are hoping to recruit more than one individual to this role, if applicants are successful at interview and at the assessment centre.
