We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic Band 7 Occupational Therapiststo join our Staff Bank, supporting services across both acute and community settings.

As a Bank Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work within diverse and rewarding services, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care across hospital and community environments.

About the Role

You will work across a variety of acute and community services, depending on service need and your clinical experience.

  • Acute Adult Services
  • Our acute Occupational Therapy teams work across a range of specialties, including:
  • Acute Medical Unit
  • Stroke and Neurology
  • Trauma and Elective Orthopaedics
  • Renal and Oncology
  • General Surgery and Vascular Services
  • Critical Care and Respiratory Services
  • To provide a high quality expert Occupational Therapy Service to a specialist caseload of patients within nominated clinical specialities based at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital Trust.
  • To manage a complex caseload using critical thinking, reflection and analysis to support assessments using a client centred approach.
  • To be responsible for a designated team of Occupational Therapists providing leadership for junior staff, apprentices and Occupational Therapy Assistants through supervision and performance management as required.
  • To assist junior staff in the management of complex cases requiring advanced clinical reasoning.
  • To lead and advise on clinical Occupational Therapy developments within the hospital and nation-wide level, and other related Trust wide projects.
  • To be responsible for the maintenance and development of own CPD identifying and contributing to the evidence base of Occupational Therapy.
  • To educate Occupational Therapy Students on clinical practice placements.
  • To provide a patient centred approach and current evidence base to assess, treat, implement, evaluate and document Occupational Therapy interventions.
  • To support the management of the Occupational Therapy Service as required by the Heads of Service.

The Occupational Therapy Service at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust spans Guy’s Hospital, St Thomas’ Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital, Harefield Hospital, and community services across South East London.
