We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and adaptable Pharmacy Technician/ Supervisor with excellent communication and organisational skills, who can effectively manage their own time and workload. You will be responsible for the day to day running and supervision of the friendly and hardworking Pharmacy Stores and Distribution team. This will include:
- Coordinating the work and training of pharmacy assistants within the stores and distribution department
- Implementation and management of changes to processes
- Managing MHRA drug recalls
- Reconciliation of delivery paperwork and managing delivery problems
- Liaising with suppliers and customers and dealing with procurement related problems and enquiries
Participation in the late duty, weekend and Bank Holiday Rota is a requirement for this post. Applicants must hold NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 Qualification in Pharmacy Services OR equivalent recognised qualification in Stores and Distribution and a GCSE in English, Science and Maths Grade C or above. All applicants should have good post qualification experience within NHS Pharmacy and Stores & Distribution. If a qualified pharmacy technician, you must have evidence of registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) of Great Britain.
Provide an effective and high-quality pharmacy service within the Procurement, Stores and Distribution area by ordering, receiving and distribution of pharmaceutical stock to wards and clinics in the Trust. Assist and deputise the Lead Technician - Stores and Distribution to plan, co-ordinate and efficiently prioritise the daily/weekly workload of Pharmacy Stores, including ward top-ups, expiry date checks and supply of ambient and cold chain medicines. Supervise and manage the daily activities of Assistant Technical Officers in Pharmacy Stores and be a super-user for the electronic medicine cupboards. Promote safe and cost-effective use of medicines by conforming to the principles of Good Distribution Practice and Stores Standard Operating Procedures.
