As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will deliver high-quality nuclear medicine to patients, supporting their diagnosis, treatment, and recovery across a variety of clinical specialties. You will work closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide precise, patient-centred care while upholding the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Performing nuclear medicine examinations to a high clinical standard
- Preparing and administering radio pharmaceuticals safely and in line with radiation protection protocols
- Positioning patients accurately to obtain optimal quality images
- Monitoring patient response during and after examinations
- Maintaining detailed and accurate records of examinations performed
- Ensuring correct use, calibration, and quality control of imaging equipment
- Providing support and reassurance to patients before, during, and after examinations
- Collaborating with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Participating in quality assurance and radiation safety procedures
- Assisting in the education and training of junior staff and students
- Keeping up to date with advancements in nuclear medicine techniques and equipment
Who We Are Looking For:
- Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in Diagnostic Radiography, equivalent recognised qualification
- Typically 6 months or more of experience working as a Nuclear Medicine Radiographer within a clinical or hospital environment
Skills:
- In-depth understanding of nuclear medicine and PET-CT imaging principles
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
- Proficiency with nuclear medicine and PET-CT imaging systems and equipment
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity
