The North Central and East London Collaborative (NCEL PC) is formed of four mental health Trusts: East London Foundation Trust (lead provider), North London NHS Foundation Trust, Whittington Health NHS Trust, and North East London Foundation Trust. NCEL has a delegated budget from NHSE through which it funds all CAMHS inpatient and alternative to admission provisions for the population of North Central and East London.

The post holder will be the NCEL Clinical Bed Manager for the Single Point of Access (SPoA) service which is responsible for processing CAMHS inpatient/alternative to admission requests, overseeing the clinical quality and clinical performance of all NCEL providers, and for all patients who originate from North Central East London regardless of which provider the placement is with.

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and processing day-to-day coordination of requests for CAMHS inpatient and alternative to admission requests.
  • Providing clinical advice to all referrers from across the NCEL collaborative regarding appropriate clinical pathways for inpatient/alternative to admission requests.
  • Receiving referrals from clinicians requesting inpatient/alternative to admission interventions and negotiating appropriate placements taking into account service user presentation, organisational policy, and organisational resources.
  • Liaising with services across the collaborative to facilitate the organisation of NCEL resources to ensure the availability of beds for admissions.
  • Supporting discussions and decisions regarding transfers between wards and to community services to facilitate new admissions as required.
  • Working proactively with NCEL services, social care services, and other providers to support discharge, transition, and contingency plans to ensure capacity across services in scope.
