We are recruiting for Street Cleansing Sweeper – Driver LGV working on behalf of the Borough Council. The posts are for driver operatives for up to LGV class 2 vehicles and or mechanical sweepers. For these posts you will need to hold a full valid manual UK driving licence, with the ability to drive a range of vehicles category C (up to 26 ton) as a minimum, and a valid CPC licence.

Your duties will include:

  • Sweeping and removal of controlled waste within the Borough (including roads, pavements and shopping areas) using a range of tools and equipment.
  • Working alone or as part of a team.
  • Transferring waste to the collection vehicle for transport to a waste processing facility.
  • Being on your feet all day and working in all weather conditions.
  • Maintaining a courteous and efficient collection service to members of the public and projecting a positive and professional image of Enfield Council always.
  • Ensuring that any potential danger to yourself, other employees or the public is minimised.
  • Having basic literacy and numeracy skills to enable you to complete basic associated paperwork and having the ability to read maps.
  • Being able to use an electronic device to record data relating to the work carried out.
