About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students with special educational needs (SEN), including those requiring personal care. This is a rewarding role working closely with pupils who may have autism (ASD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), or physical disabilities, helping them access education and develop independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN
- Assist with personal care needs (toileting, feeding, changing, mobility support)
- Support students with communication and emotional regulation
- Work alongside teachers to adapt learning activities
- Use specialist equipment where required (e.g. hoists, sensory tools)
- Promote dignity, independence, and wellbeing at all times
- Monitor and record student progress
About You
- Experience working with children or young people (SEN, care, healthcare, nursery, or similar)
- Comfortable supporting
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and undertake training
- Experience with ASD, PMLD, or complex needs
- Moving & Handling / Hoist training
- Background in care, support work, or health
