Duties as General Science Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging General Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 in line with the national curriculum.

  • Assess, monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
  • Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment that promotes high standards of behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the science department and wider school community.
  • Contribute to enrichment activities, revision sessions or intervention where required.
  • Fulfil all general responsibilities of a classroom teacher, including safeguarding and pastoral duties.

Ideal General Science Teacher:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching General Science at secondary level, including recent classroom practice.
  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for science education.
  • Is committed to raising achievement and supporting pupils’ academic and personal development.
  • Possesses good classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Is reflective, adaptable and keen to develop within a long‑term teaching opportunity.

Your salary - dependent on experience - is paid weekly through PAYE – that means no self‑employed or umbrella companies.
