Duties as Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure pupils remain on task
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour
- Support pupils in their learning and encourage positive engagement
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Adapt quickly to different school settings and routines
Ideal Cover Supervisor:
- Experience working with secondary-aged pupils in an educational setting
- Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills
- Ability to follow lesson plans and maintain continuity of learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A flexible and proactive approach to working across different schools
- A genuine interest in education and supporting young people
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
