This 6 PA substantive Consultant post is based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Child Development Service (CDS). The postholder will be doing outpatient clinics at St. Mary’s Hospital and Woodfield Road Medical Centre, managing children accepted in all pathways of the service including neurodisability, Autism, ADHD, developmental delay and safeguarding.
The postholder will also be responsible for liaising with the acute team for children on CDS pathways who are admitted on the ward for medical conditions and participate with the multidisciplinary teams involved in care. The postholder will participate in implementing transition care plans during the discharge of children on CDS pathways to adult care.
In this 6 PA job, the postholder will undertake clinical work which will be outpatient based. As the funding has been approved by the Integrated Care Board, the successful candidate will have opportunities to engage in leadership roles of the various pathways of CDS at the Imperial site to implement the changes that may be advised by the commissioning bodies.

The postholder will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive child development service, child safeguarding service and managing clinical caseloads including referrals for assessment and management of children with developmental concerns including social communication disorders, ADHD, neurodisability and complex needs. The postholder should have experience in child safeguarding and educational health needs assessments (EHNAs).
The postholder will also be required to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and supervise Specialist Registrars and Clinical Fellows in Neurodevelopmental Paediatrics. The postholder will be required to be involved in clinical audits, Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) and research within the department.
