Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead to provide clinical oversight, leadership, and governance across our complex care packages.

The successful candidate will support the safe delivery of delegated healthcare tasks, oversee clinical risk management, guide care staff, and ensure care plans, competencies, documentation, and clinical practices remain compliant with CQC standards, company policies, and best practice guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to care teams supporting individuals with complex health needs.
  • Oversee clinical care plans, risk assessments, health action plans, escalation plans, and emergency protocols.
  • Support staff competency assessments for delegated healthcare tasks, including PEG care, suctioning, epilepsy care, rescue medication, diabetes care, catheter care, respiratory support, and other clinical interventions as required.
  • Review clinical documentation, daily notes, MAR/e MAR records, monitoring charts, incident reports, and clinical observations.
  • Identify clinical risks, changes in health needs, safeguarding concerns, medication issues, and documentation gaps.
  • Support care reviews, MDT meetings, hospital discharge planning, and commissioner reviews.
  • Provide coaching, supervision, and clinical guidance to care staff and senior staff.
  • Ensure timely escalation to GPs, community nurses, specialist teams, emergency services, commissioners, and family representatives where appropriate.
  • Contribute to audits, quality assurance, governance meetings, lessons learned, and service improvement.
  • Promote safe, person-centred care in line with CQC Fundamental Standards, NICE guidance, safeguarding principles, MCA, GDPR, infection prevention and control, and medication safety requirements.
