The Clinical Director will provide strong clinical leadership across the collaborative, working closely with the Clinical Director for Transformation and the Programme Director. The role will promote the development of clinical practice across NCEL CAMHS, ensuring safe and effective practice, systems of clinical involvement, and providing assurance of quality to the ELFT and NCEL CAMHS Provider Collaborative governance system.
The post holder will need to be creative and flexible as they participate in the future development of the Provider Collaborative. The NCEL PC has a clinical team supporting decision making about admissions to in-patient and day services and to Home Treatment Teams. The team also maintains quality oversight following admissions and works to facilitate appropriate discharge plans and community engagement.
The Clinical Director will support high-quality decision making, maintaining clinical flow and ensuring young people receive the most appropriate service for their needs. The post holder will provide senior medical advice to the clinical team and support clinical escalation processes when necessary. Working with the Head of Quality, they will ensure the effective operation of the Clinical team, help develop new partnerships, pathways, and service models.

The Clinical Director will work alongside the Clinical Director for Transformation in delivering the clinical strategy and improvement plans for the development of quality across the NCEL CAMHS Provider Collaborative. This includes fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and providers to support the development of clinical practice across NCEL CAMHS, promoting clinical quality and the development of clinical pathways in line with the service user set aims of the collaborative.
The post holder will lead the Clinical Leadership Group (CLG) and sub-groups, working with clinical colleagues from across the collaborative to standardise practice and reduce variation where clinically beneficial.
