We are looking for a dynamic and resilient Patient Administrator to support the delivery of Women’s & Neonates services at North Middlesex University Hospital. This is a busy and fast-paced role within the Obstetrics, Maternity & Neonates department, where the post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support across outpatient clinics, booking services and ward areas. The role requires excellent attention to detail, a strong patient-focused approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team while managing competing priorities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills, a commitment to maintaining data accuracy, and the ability to adapt to changing service demands. You will also be expected to embody the Trust values and deliver high-quality customer service, while fulfilling the responsibilities outlined in the job description and person specification.

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support across Outpatients Clinics, Booking Office and Wards within Women’s Services
  • Process and distribute incoming mail and manage clinic documentation accurately and within deadlines
  • Book, reschedule and manage patient appointments, ensuring efficient clinic utilisation
  • Use hospital systems (e.g. PAS/Medway) to maintain accurate patient records and data quality
  • Support colleagues by ensuring notes, results and documentation are available for clinics
  • Handle telephone and email queries promptly, escalating complex queries appropriately
  • Undertake reception duties, dealing with patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assist with patient services such as arranging transport and interpreters
  • Maintain and update databases, spreadsheets and audit information
  • Ensure timely filing and tracking of patient records in line with information governance standards
  • Contribute to service improvements, audits and departmental projects where appropriate
  • Work flexibly across the department to support service delivery
