An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated cancer nurse to join the Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist team at St Bartholomew’s Hospital as an Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist (Band 6). In this developmental role, you will work alongside established GI Cancer CNSs, supporting patients and their families throughout the cancer pathway, from diagnosis and treatment through to survivorship, recurrence and end-of-life care where appropriate.

This is an ideal opportunity for a nurse with oncology experience who wishes to develop specialist clinical, leadership and care coordination skills within a supportive multidisciplinary environment. You will provide specialist nursing support to patients with gastrointestinal cancer, acting as a developing key worker and patient advocate.

Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will undertake holistic needs assessments, coordinate care across organisational boundaries, provide specialist advice and information, and support patients to make informed decisions about their treatment and care. You will participate in MDT meetings, contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives, and complete a structured CNS development programme to support progression towards independent caseload management.
