Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of a leading international manufacturer for a Logistics Improvement Lead to join their Stoke-on-Trent operation. This position is ideal for a logistics or supply chain professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. Rather than seeking someone with an established senior management background, our client is looking for a high-potential individual with the ambition, drive and capability to grow within the business over time. You'll join a small, close-knit operation where your ideas will have a visible impact. Working alongside experienced leaders, you'll gain exposure to key operational activities while leading improvement projects that enhance efficiency, compliance and performance across the site.
As a Logistics Improvement Lead, you'll play a key role in driving operational improvements across warehousing, distribution and supply chain activities. Responsibilities include:
- Leading logistics and process improvement projects from planning through to implementation
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, service levels and operational performance
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles and process mapping techniques
- Monitoring KPIs and analysing operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Supporting ISO and BSI audit activities and maintaining compliance standards
- Developing process documentation and promoting best practice across the site
- Working closely with colleagues to gain engagement and successfully embed change
To be successful in this Logistics Improvement Lead role, you'll ideally have:
- A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline
- Several years' experience within logistics, warehousing, manufacturing or supply chain operations
- Experience leading projects, improvement initiatives or operational change activities
- Some supervisory, team coordination or people leadership exposure
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across teams
- Good analytical skills and confidence using Microsoft Excel
- SAP EWM experience would be advantageous but is not essential
