We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Locum Consultant in Hip & Knee Surgery to join our outstanding Trauma & Orthopaedics team at UCLH. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver a high performing subspecialty service within one of the UK’s leading acute teaching hospitals.

In this role, you will provide expert care across the full spectrum of hip and knee conditions, working closely with a dedicated multidisciplinary team that values collaboration, innovation and exceptional patient outcomes. You will have the opportunity to develop your subspecialty interests and contribute to service development.

As a Consultant in Hip & Knee Surgery, you will deliver expert assessment, operative and nonoperative management for the full range of hip and knee conditions, providing high quality, patient centred care across elective and trauma pathways. You will lead clinical decision making in theatres, clinics and multidisciplinary settings, working closely with specialist therapists, nursing teams and senior medical colleagues to ensure safe, efficient and timely care.

You will play an active role in shaping the Hip & Knee service and contributing to pathway development. Teaching and supporting resident doctors, medical students and wider clinical staff will form an important part of your week, alongside contributing to departmental audit, quality improvement and research activity.

The role requires excellent communication skills, sound clinical judgement, strong organisational ability and a commitment to teamwork, service reliability and continuous improvement. You will also contribute to clinical governance, uphold high professional standards and support the broader aims of the Trauma & Orthopaedics department as part of a cohesive and high performing consultant team.
