We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Casual Domestic Assistants to join our caring and committed team. Working within our residential service for older adults, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that supports residents' health, wellbeing, dignity, and comfort. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference to the daily lives of older people while working as part of a supportive and dedicated team.
As a Casual Domestic Assistant within our 16-bed residential care service for older adults, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Working in a homely care environment, you will play an important role in supporting residents' health, wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life.
On a day-to-day basis, you will work closely with residents, care staff, the Unit Manager, and visitors while carrying out cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the home. The role involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness, following infection prevention and control procedures, and ensuring communal areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and other facilities are clean, comfortable, and well presented.
As a casual member of staff, you will provide flexible cover for annual leave, sickness absence, training, and periods of increased demand, helping to ensure continuity of domestic services within the home. This role makes a meaningful difference to the lives of older people in Argyll and Bute by helping to create a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment in which residents can thrive.
We are looking for a reliable, motivated, and hardworking individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for older adults. You will have good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team within a residential care setting. Previous experience in a cleaning, housekeeping, domestic, or care environment would be advantageous but is not essential, as training will be provided.
You should have an understanding of the importance of infection prevention and control, health and safety, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. You will be organised, flexible, and able to work on your own initiative while demonstrating respect for residents' dignity, privacy, and independence. A flexible approach to working patterns is essential, as this casual post provides cover for annual leave, sickness absence, training, and periods of increased demand.
