6 months initially with a view to convert to Permanent

Shift Patterns

37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri

Start

pending the successful result of a medical which does include a Drug and Alcohol test

Responsibilities

  • Operating FLT Counterbalance to load and unload steel product within the factory
  • Using a sideloader counterbalance to handle long loads
  • Recognising product ranges to ensure accurate and prompt selection
  • Assisting the Warehouse Operations and Packing teams
  • Handling material in the form of labelling, storing and checking stock records
  • Storing steel product in compliance with Tatas standards and procedures
  • Conducting quality checks on inbound material
  • Checking that picked items are accurate at all times
  • Ensuring productivity and performance targets are consistent and met
  • Basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks as required
  • Adhering to Health and Safety procedures at all times and operating within a Safe Systems Of Work (SSOW)

Qualifications

  • FLT Counterbalance experience (2+ years)
  • FLT licence (indate, external) desirable but not essential as inhouse refresher will be given
  • Experience within a Warehouse, Manufacturing and/or Production environment (2+ years)
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
  • Ability to follow risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Ability to work independently as well as supporting team members
