This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious pharmacy leader to join The Walton Centre Trust as Site Lead Pharmacist. As the senior leader, you will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality pharmacy services.
You will lead the planning, development and delivery of pharmacy services, driving innovation, continuous improvement and service excellence. Working closely with senior clinical and operational colleagues, you will help shape future service models and deliver improvements in quality, performance, productivity and patient outcomes.
You will provide expert leadership in medicines optimisation across neurosciences services. You will support the safe, evidence-based use of medicines, work with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient pathways, and ensure delivery of high-quality patient care.
The role includes responsibility for workforce leadership and development. You will lead workforce planning, recruitment, training and performance management, creating a positive culture that supports learning, innovation and continuous improvement.
You will also provide leadership for medicines governance, safety and quality, overseeing incident management, risk reduction, assurance reporting and quality improvement. Representing pharmacy at Trust and system level, you will build strong partnerships across organisations and help deliver outstanding pharmacy services for patients.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Strategic and Operational Leadership: Lead and manage pharmacy services at Walton Centre NHS FT, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality service delivery aligned to Trust and Group priorities.
- Clinical Leadership and Medicines Optimisation: Provide senior clinical leadership to support the safe, evidence-based use of medicines across neurosciences services and improve patient outcomes.
- Workforce Management and Development: Lead, support and develop the pharmacy workforce through recruitment, performance management, education and professional development.
- Medicines Safety, Governance and Risk: Provide oversight of medicines safety, incident management, risk reduction, audit and governance processes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Financial and Service Improvement Leadership: Manage delegated budgets, deliver cost improvement programmes and lead service developments that enhance quality, efficiency and patient care.
