Our students and staff, past, present, and future, are the beating heart of our city and can be found in every corner of every industry and community.

We couldn't exist anywhere else and have shaped the city in which we belong.

Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the heart of why we were founded and why we exist today.

Liverpool John Moores University is seeking to appoint an Academic Programme Tutor for the Professional Qualification in Probation (PQi P) Programme.

This programme will provide the academic component of the PQi P training for the North West and Greater Manchester areas.

As an Academic Programme Tutor, you will be located in the School of Justice Studies and work alongside colleagues in a dedicated PQi P Team and more broadly with Criminal Justice colleagues.

The School of Justice Studies is part of the Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies which offers a diverse range of programmes, from Architecture to Film, Education, Criminal Justice and Policing.

As an Academic Programme Tutor, you will be required to contribute to the academic delivery and assessment of this professional programme.

You will be involved in developing high quality teaching, learning and assessment materials and you will be required to offer academic and pastoral advice and guidance to the learners.

In addition, you will act as a dedicated link to one of the probation areas.

We are seeking to appoint highly motivated and creative individuals who are committed to the pursuit of excellence in probation teaching and practice.

You should have experience of teaching and learning activities within Higher Education and/or the workplace.

It is desirable to have a post graduate degree in Criminal Justice, or cognate area and/or significant probation operational experience.

Informal enquiries can be made to Ester Ragonese (PQi P Academic Delivery Lead) at E.

Applications are particularly welcome from people with lived experience of the criminal justice system.

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction and development support as well as family-friendly policies.

This is an exciting time to join the university as we deliver the LJMU Strategy 2030 and its vision of LJMU as an inclusive civic university transforming lives and futures, by placing students at the heart of everything we do.

If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.
