Neonatal nurses are essential to the NHS, providing specialist care for premature and sick newborns. The Liverpool Neonatal partnership – comprising The Liverpool Women’s Neonatal Unit and the Surgical Neonatal Unit at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, both part of the Cheshire and Mersey Neonatal Network – cares for over 1,000 babies and families each year from the Isle of Man, North Wales, and beyond.
We are recruiting experienced Neonatal or Paediatric Nurses to work across both sites, delivering high-quality specialist care. Applicants should have experience in Neonatal Nursing, Paediatric Critical Care, or paediatric surgical specialties and have completed a neonatal placement during their training.
All successful candidates will be supported to complete the Foundation in Neonates (FIN) and Qualification in Specialty (QIS), if not already achieved. The successful candidates will function as clinical practitioners within all areas of the neonatal service and rotate to AHCH neonatal services using knowledge and skills to achieve optimum outcomes for the neonate and family in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for the neonate in partnership with the family in high dependency and intensive care nurseries and for co-ordinating, supervising, and supporting the neonatal staff within an identified clinical area.
With experience, you will be required to act as room leader and be responsible for supervising and mentoring junior staff, basic and post-basic students within the neonatal service.
