Locum Consultant Physician - Respiratory Medicine
This Consultant Physician role offers a blend of clinical and leadership duties in Respiratory Medicine. In Respiratory Medicine, the consultant will provide leadership in the Respiratory Unit, managing complex respiratory patients and supporting the newly developed NIV unit. The role also includes responsibility for overseeing pleural procedures, managing acute respiratory patients, and contributing to bronchoscopy lists. The post holder will also collaborate with various specialist services, including the Severe Asthma service and Lung Cancer MDT. There will be significant opportunities for research involvement within these specialties. The post holder will also have responsibilities for teaching and mentorship. You will be expected to actively engage in the educational development of junior doctors and contribute to multidisciplinary teaching sessions. Clinical supervision is integral to the role, and the post holder will be a clinical mentor for one or more trainees. The post holder will contribute to the on-call rota for the Respiratory Department, and may be called upon to support the hospital at home service and other community respiratory initiatives. The job will involve a blend of clinical duties and leadership, with an emphasis on continuous improvement of services for acutely unwell patients.
