Job Description The IT and Digital Administrator is responsible for leading and supporting the Practice's digital systems, administrative operations.
The role combines operational administration, digital leadership, information governance responsibilities, system development and first-line IT support.
The post holder will work closely with Partners, Practice Management, clinical staff and external organisations to ensure the effective delivery of administrative and digital services across the Practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Systems & IT Management
- Act as lead administrator for Practice admin and digital systems including EMIS Web, Blinx and associated platforms.
- Provide first-line IT support for Practice staff and coordinate with external IT providers where required.
- Maintain user accounts, permissions and system access across Practice digital platforms.
- Monitor and maintain digital infrastructure to ensure continuity of service and minimise operational disruption.
- Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting Practice operations deferring to i Mersey as appropriate.
- Support the implementation, configuration and optimisation of new digital systems and technologies.
- Digital Transformation & Service Development
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through digital solutions and process redesign.
- Lead and support digital transformation projects across the Practice.
- Design, develop, implement and maintain digital workflow when needed.
- Support the development and implementation of new pathways and service delivery models.
- Act as Digital Champion for the Practice and promote best practice in digital working.
- Administrative Leadership
- Coordinate and support the effective operation of the administrative duties.
- Provide guidance and support to administrative staff regarding processes and workflow.
- Help and monitor administrative workload.
- Lead with appointment system management, ensuring clinic schedules and appointment books are configured accurately.
- Oversee and support the admin team.
- Support Practice Management with operational planning and service delivery.
- Data Analysis & Performance Management
- Design and undertake searches using Practice systems.
- Produce reports and data analysis to support operational, clinical and strategic decision making.
- Support achievement of Practice contractual requirements.
- Information Governance & Compliance
- Support information governance activities including Data Protection Impact Assessments information.
- External Liaison & Representation
- Liaise with external organisations including NHS bodies, ICB teams, software suppliers and digital support organisations.
- Represent the Practice at digital, extended access and other relevant meetings.
- Training & Staff Development
- Support training staff regarding digital systems, workflows and administrative processes.
- General Responsibilities
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role and grade as reasonably required by the Partners or Practice Management.
