This is a very exciting opportunity for a Ward Sister to join the team on Major Trauma Ward. We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our Multi-disciplinary team, providing high quality nursing care within the acute setting on Major Trauma Ward.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, team working skills and a dedication to improving the patients' experience. You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and a strong commitment to develop others while working closely within a Multidisciplinary team.

Applicants must be 1st Level Nurses with evidence of demonstrable experience of working as a Band 5 or previous experience as a Band 6. You will be required to demonstrate significant Band 5 experience. We are looking for individuals with leadership potential and effective communication skills, who can demonstrate a proactive, collaborative and innovative approach to the clinical environment and are passionate about excellence in patient care.

Informal visits are encouraged.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the ward manager to lead, provide and supervise a very high standard of compassionate care to our patients.
  • Supporting the safety and quality agenda of patient care and staff management, ensuring that the values and objectives of the Trust are met while improving patient outcomes.
  • Supporting the journey of the patient from admission to discharge, identifying risk and formulating actions to reduce this risk and ensure patient throughput is effective.
  • Displaying excellent leadership and effective communication skills.
