Civil Liberties Solicitor (RETRAINS WELCOME)

Our client is a highly-respected claimant law firm with a strong presence across the North West.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Civil Liberties Lawyer to join a well-established team.

This position is open to those looking to retrain.

The team specialises in acting for individuals whose rights have been infringed by public authorities, including claims against the police, public bodies and other state organisations.

The successful candidate will join a growing and supportive department dedicated to securing justice for clients in complex and high-profile matters.

Your new role

You will manage your own caseload of civil liberties matters whilst working alongside experienced lawyers within a specialist team. This role will involve:

  • Handling a varied caseload of civil liberties and human rights claims.
  • Advising clients on claims involving unlawful detention, assault, discrimination, breaches of human rights and actions against public authorities.
  • Conducting litigation from inception through to resolution.
  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements and other legal documentation.
  • Attending hearings, conferences and client meetings where required.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Contributing to business development initiatives and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Qualified Solicitor or chartered legal executive
  • Knowledge of civil liberties, human rights and public authority claims preferred
  • Part 7 litigation experience required for those looking to retrain
  • Proven experience managing litigated matters from initial instruction to conclusion.
  • Excellent client care and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
