We are representing a reputable company seeking a skilled HGV Fleet Technician to join their team in Littlehampton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to work within a well-equipped workshop environment, maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles, including DAF and Volvo models. Duties:
- Plan and organise workload and maintenance schedules efficiently
- Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance on HGVs
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and carry out necessary repairs
- Maintain detailed service and repair records
- Support urgent repairs and minimise vehicle downtime
- Carry out inspections and rectify major defects in line with safety regulations
- Support out-of-hours call outs, including fault diagnosis and repairs
- Assist with planned maintenance and breakdowns for fleet vehicles including road marking units and trucks between 28 and 44 tonnes
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician or HGV Mechanic with 5-6 years of relevant industry experience
- Knowledge of DAF and Volvo commercial vehicles preferred but not essential
- Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and repair skills
- Experience preparing vehicles for MOT is advantageous
- Organisational skills with the ability to plan workloads effectively
- Responsible, proactive, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
- Valid driving licence; an HGV licence is advantageous but not mandatory
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including out-of-hours call outs
