Provide an effective and efficient caretaking service that supports Woodview and other services in meeting the needs of the community of Moray in accordance with Council policy.

Requirements

This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.

Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective care of the fabric, tidiness and security of the buildings and the area around it and carry out all caretaker service routines to the agreed quality standards.
  • Support Individuals to participate in tasks where appropriate.
  • Ensure that the financial and administrative procedures of the Council are complied with.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities.

The Individual

  • Care and maintenance of property
  • 4 SQA Standard Grades or equivalent at level 3 or above including technical subjects
  • Effective literacy and numeracy skills
  • IT literate
  • Self confidence
  • Self motivated
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks / action
  • Ability to follow routines
  • Capable of working unsupervised
  • Able to carry out handyman / basic maintenance duties
  • Driving licence which enables you to drive a mini-bus or other Individuals transport
  • Strong customer care / people skills
  • Diplomacy
  • Willingness to accept direction/delegation
  • Ability to carry out physical intervention with Individuals who display behaviour that causes concern.
  • Ability to lift and carry reasonable weight, move furniture and equipment and store deliveries including cleaning and stationery supplies in accordance with moving and handling regulations.
  • Must be able to lift and bend in order to carry out wet and dry cleaning
  • Ability to climb a ladder
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service

£14.27 per hour

37 hours per week
