Hours: 2:00pm – 10:00pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: £15.50 per hour (PAYE) + holiday pay accrual on all hours worked
Term: Temporary ongoing position with weekly pay
The role:
We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join a busy operation in Leyland. This is a dual-role position combining Class 2 driving with FLT operation, supporting the movement of stock and finished products between nearby company sites.
The role involves predominantly short-distance driving, typically 5–10 miles between company-owned premises, with the successful candidate also operating a Counterbalance or Bendi FLT to load and unload curtainside vehicles and containers.
This is an ideal opportunity for a reliable and confident Class 2 Driver who is comfortable combining driving duties with hands-on warehouse and FLT work.
Key responsibilities:
- Driving a Class 2 vehicle safely and professionally between company-owned sites.
- Transporting stock, materials and finished products between locations, typically within a 5–10 mile radius.
- Loading and unloading vehicles using a Counterbalance or Bendi FLT, including side-loading curtainside containers.
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects or issues.
- Completing delivery and transport documentation accurately.
- Ensuring all driving and FLT activities are carried out in accordance with health & safety requirements and relevant legislation.
- Safely manoeuvring HGVs and FLTs in confined areas and around busy site environments.
- Assisting with general loading, unloading and site duties when required.
- Representing the business professionally when travelling between sites.
- Maintaining high standards of reliability and punctuality throughout the assignment.
- On site kitchen and canteen facilities with supermarkets in close proximity
Please note: This is a genuine dual-role position.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake both HGV Class 2 driving and FLT duties as part of their normal working day.
