The school is looking to appoint a compassionate and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 child with ADHD from September 2026.

Your new role

This rewarding role will involve supporting a child on a one-to-one basis throughout the school day, helping them to access learning, remain engaged in lessons and achieve the outcomes outlined within their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

The child follows a personalised curriculum, and you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the appropriate support strategies are in place.

This position would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant who has a strong understanding of SEN and a passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 child with ADHD
  • Support the child to access a tailored curriculum and achieve EHCP targets
  • Implement strategies to promote engagement, focus and positive behaviour
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning
  • Adapt activities and resources to meet the child\'s individual needs
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Support the child\'s social, emotional and academic development
  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with the child and their family
  • What you\'ll need to succeed
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or recognised equivalent
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN needs within a primary school setting
  • Experience working with children with ADHD and implementing appropriate support strategies
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches
  • Experience supporting children within Key Stage 1
  • A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS through Hays
  • Right to work in the UK
