Pay rate: Up to £450 per day PAYE & Umbrella rates available

Hours of work: Monday - Friday

Our client, a leader in Nuclear Generation requires a Contract Manager. In your role, you will work closely with the Contract Management Lead and Programme Management Office (PMO) Manager and be responsible for managing major contracts. You will be at the heart of the Contract Management team and will be expected to demonstrate commercial leadership, pace, rigour, and drive delivery in contract performance.

Further, you will engage closely with Outage Management, Engineering, Procurement and Quality Assurance teams driving performance, developing relationships with suppliers, and identifying commercial opportunities and service improvements. There is a real opportunity to take ownership of these agreements and to deliver exceptional service to our internal and external customers.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following skills/experience:

  • HNC or equivalent in a business or commercial discipline
  • Strong experience of MSA's and NEC Contract Management preferable
  • Experience in working with a main contractor
  • Experience in financial control including cost control and other processes would be beneficial
  • Ability to deliver information and influence internal & external stakeholders at all levels
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Strong MS office skills, ability to work to deadlines and highly organised
  • SAP and CEMAR experience preferred but not essential

Role information:

  • Managing the performance of key contractors in accordance with the relevant contract requirements and business operational needs, to ensure best value and services from suppliers are achieved in terms of cost, quality, and productivity
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders and communicating relevant contractual information as required
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities and improvements for commercial efficiencies across operational activities and contracts
  • Leading on contract negotiations
  • Providing contract-related issue resolution to supplier disputes or escalations
  • Ensuring that all processes followed are in line with legislation and company policies
  • Completing contract close-out, reviewing contracts for extension or renewal, and assisting procurement teams where applicable for re-procurement
