We are seeking a Mobile Air Conditioning / Electrical Engineer to provide a world-class and consistent building maintenance service across designated client properties. The successful candidate will deliver air conditioning, refrigeration and building maintenance services, including fault finding, repairs, maintenance and installations.
We are looking for a skilled engineer with experience in HVAC, refrigeration and electrical systems who can ensure equipment operates to specified performance criteria. The role will also involve reactive and planned maintenance activities, contractor control duties and participation in the callout rota.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair and modify air conditioning equipment, compressors, chillers, electrical components and controls.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) inspections and undertake necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Repair or replace defective parts, including thermostats, switches, relays, filters, belts, compressors, valves and associated controls.
- Repair and rebuild semi-hermetic reciprocating compressors and compressors used within HVAC systems.
- Perform electrical maintenance, installation and alteration work on systems, motors, control panels and wiring.
- Install, calibrate, test and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including copper pipework and insulation.
- Diagnose and repair faults on building services systems and plant, including basic electrical fault finding.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- HVAC City & Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants or CITB J11 Equivalent.
- NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Commercial Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems; OR NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Heating & Ventilation; OR NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Heating & Ventilation Service & Maintenance.
- Electrical Level 3 Electrical Qualification including one of the following: City & Guilds 2365, 2357 Level 3 and NVQ 2356 AM2, OR City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 in Electrical Installation and NVQ 2356 and AM2, OR City & Guilds 236/2360 Electrical Installations Part 1 & 2, OR BTEC Electrical Electronic Engineering, AND City & Guilds 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018), preferably with A2 Amendment.
- City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Inspection & Testing (2391 or 2394/2395).
- IPAF and/or PASMA.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Skills & Experience
- Experience providing air conditioning, refrigeration or HVAC building services maintenance.
- Proven background in fault finding, maintenance and installation activities.
- Experience delivering both reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
- Experience working within Facilities Management (FM) or building services environments.
- Experience supporting commercial properties and client sites.
- Strong understanding of electrical, HVAC and mechanical building services systems.
