An exciting opportunity has risen to join the Cardiac Rehabilitation team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
We are seeking a full time Band 3 Cardiac Rehabilitation assistant for our services.
We are looking for someone who has experience in health and social care with a keen interest in exercise training for health or fitness.
Cardiac Rehabilitation is delivered across 3 sites from Glenfield Hospital, Leicester General Hospital and the National Centre of Sports and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM) at Loughborough University as well as covering other non UHL sites within the Community.
This person will be required to work flexibly across all sites and therefore a clean driving licence is desirable
You will be responsible for delivering essential patient care and reviews under the supervision of a qualified practitioner.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
You will be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team composed of nurses, physiotherapists and exercise physiologists, supporting patients and promoting recovery through planned programmes of care with the aim of preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and facilitating patients’ effective self-management and rehabilitation.

Qualifications and Experience
- GCSE A-C in English and maths or equivalent
- Exercise instructor Qualification level 2 or above.
- Experience of working within the healthcare setting
- Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Shows interest in caring for people
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and motivation customer care skills and patient focus
- Demonstrates ability to pass on knowledge to others
- Recognises own limitations
- Ability to work as part of a team and act on own initiative

- Physically capable of preparing the exercise space for rehabilitation classes and restoring after classes.
- Able to travel across UHL sites and across Leicestershire.
