Are you an experienced Driver wanting to control your own rota with flexibility to work the shifts that suit you? Whether you’re looking for extra shifts to boost your income or a flexible job that fits around your lifestyle, if you’re an experienced Driver you can join our staff bank after completing a paid two-week induction. There is no minimum number of hours you’re required to work, though it is recommended to work as often as you can to ensure your induction knowledge and familiarity with the service is retained.

As a Bank Driver you will be:

  • Driving patients and staff within Leek or other parts of England/Wales ensuring that the journey is completed in a safe and timely manner, using the most efficient route.
  • Driving staff and other visitors to/from by planning the journey in advance.
  • Ensuring that the Hospital vehicles are cleaned regularly, maintained correctly and safely and that any damage or faults are dealt with immediately.
  • Ensuring that vehicles are always fuelled and record-keeping is kept up to date and available when requested.
  • Being spontaneous as you will be required to do some short notice emergency journeys, but we would check with you first to see if you could do the journey.

Location: Ballington Gardens, Leek, Staffordshire ST13 5LW

Site info: You will be working at Ballington House, a 13 bedded Mental Health rehabilitation hospital that provides services for women with complex Mental Health needs. The environment at Ballington House offers a pathway from admission to discharge which incorporates three phases: the assessment phase (accepting help), the rehabilitation phase (believing, trying and learning) and the community phase-out (self-reliance). The patients' journey generally begins on the ground floor and as they move through each phase of their pathway they proceed to the second floor and then the two bedroomed apartment on the second floor.

You will work alongside an experienced multi-disciplinary team consisting of a consultant psychiatrist, clinical psychologist and assistants, an occupational therapist and assistants, nurses, and support workers.
