We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Vehicle Damage Assessor position at their well-established accident repair centre in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

The Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator role offers a competitive salary package, with a basic salary of up to £40,000 dependent on experience and an attractive OTE of approximately £45,000.

Duties of a Vehicle Damage Assessor

  • Conduct detailed damage inspections on damaged vehicles, accurately documenting the extent of damage
  • Use specialised tools and software, including Audatex (beneficial but not mandatory)
  • Prepare detailed reports and photographic evidence of vehicle conditions
  • Evaluate repair estimates and determine scope of work required
  • Communicate assessment findings effectively with customers, insurers, and repair teams
  • Review repair estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Identify additional damages and advise on repair strategies
  • Ensure assessments align with industry standards and safety regulations
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, assessments, and communications
  • Assist in post-repair inspections to verify quality standards
  • Support claims processes, negotiations, and cost efficiency's
  • Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines and customer expectations

Requirements of a Vehicle Damage Assessor

  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator within an accident repair environment
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle damage assessment techniques and repair procedures
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software, preferably Audatex
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with customers and insurers
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Valid driving licence
