Why you should join our Team:
The Spinal Unit in Leeds is a busy regional spinal unit receiving more than 120 new elective referrals per week covering a population of over 2.5 million. The post-holder will be contributing to the duties of both elective admissions and acute spinal surgery on-call cover including supporting the regional Major Trauma Centre which is based in the LGI. The clinical work will involve managing a wide range of spinal conditions including deformity, lumbar and cervical degenerative conditions, trauma, infection and tumour. Opportunities will also be available to gain experience in the management of spinal injuries patients at the LGI. Research work will involve a main project and there will be an expectation to achieve at least one publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
What you will bring to the role:
Successful candidates will join a department of 12 Specialist Spinal Surgery consultants, 4 specialty trainees, four trust grade registrars (including these two posts), 8 FY doctors, and five clinical nurse specialists.
