Activity worker/PA needed mainly over some afternoons/evenings, weekends and school holidays for a teenage boy with quite a high level of ADHD. Days and number of hours worked per day/times worked are very flexible. Please note this is not a role which requires any personal care but is suited to someone who enjoys spending time with young people and can match their energy.

A key requirement of this role is enjoying and having experience of being around teenagers/young adults, and ideally having some experience of neurodiversity. Being patient and calm is also important as is a good sense of humour.

Having ADHD means that my son is very active, likes to chat a lot, and likes to be kept busy all the time. In summer he enjoys being outdoors a lot but he also really enjoys long drives to the coast etc. He also enjoys gaming. From time to time he also enjoys activities such as going bowling, swimming, going to the cinema, Go Ape etc.

The ideal person would be someone who is reasonably outdoorsy and active, and who would enjoy taking him on various outings and doing outdoor activities to help him burn off some energy. Having access to a car is also a key requirement.

No personal care is needed for this role as my son is very able physically, so please note that this is not a 'traditional' carer role, and would probably not be suited to someone who is used to working with the elderly or physically ill for example as the skills needed are very different.

Basic rate is £12.40 per hour plus holiday pay. This equates to FTE annual salary of £24,108.

  • Skills: Social + Leisure activities
  • Support to remain independent
  • Full UK driving license
  • Own personal car

Key Responsibilities: Services Social + Leisure activities, Training, Safeguarding Adults/Children, Transportation.
