PA for 13 year old boy in LS17 - £12.71/hr (4hrs pw term time, 8hrs pw in holidays)
We are looking for a personal assistant for our 13 year old son who has ADHD and Autism with a PDA profile, to support him to access activities in the community and to take some pressure off home. He is full of energy, highly intelligent but struggles with social anxiety and trying new things. With your help and skills, we are hoping we can improve his self confidence, social skills, independence, develop friendships and reduce his anxiety. He can be extremely loving and has a great sense of humour but can also be challenging and controlling when he feels threatened or becomes dysregulated.
His interests include:
- Plane spotting
- Trampolining
- Playing in the woods
- Going to the park
- Gaming
- Listening and playing music
- Dancing
- Gardening
- Baking
- Being with animals
Experience required:- Experience in working with young people- Knowledge and understanding of ADHD and autism
- Understanding of children with trauma
- Be able to set boundaries and expectations- Myst be extremely active and willing to join in activities- Have a love of the outdoors- Must have a clean driving licence and use of your own vehicle- Must not smoke or vape around the young personHours:4 hours per week (term time) – flexible as to whether this is on the weekend or 2 hours over 2 days after school8 hours per week (school holidays) – flexible as to whether this is two half days or a full day
