- What you will bring to the role
- Support the Ward Leader in providing effective leadership to the clinical team.
- Motivate, support, and inspire staff to deliver efficient, safe, high-quality patient care.
- Promote and deliver a consistently positive patient experience.
- Encourage the development of effective teamwork and strong collaboration across teams.
- Proactively identify potential issues and implement preventative measures, mitigation strategies, or contingency plans as required.
- Assist with the line management of the nursing team, including monitoring individual and team performance and attendance.
- Support the effective deployment of staff in line with patient flow to ensure safe and efficient care delivery.
- Participate in and support local and trust-wide recruitment activities.
- Assist in managing the appropriate use of bank and agency staff.
- Support the Ward Leader in investigating and responding to accidents, complaints, incidents, and other significant events.
- Contribute to the delivery of a safe, high-quality, and cost-effective service within agreed budgets.
- Identify, raise, and respond appropriately to concerns related to risk, safety, malpractice, or wrongdoing, in line with the LTHT whistleblowing policy and procedures.
- Deputise for the Ward Leader in their absence, as required.
