I am looking for a personal assistant to provide physical support to enable a young, intelligent adult to do day to day activities.
Hours: 3 x 1.25 hour shifts/week + overtime. Can be negotiated. Mainly weekday mornings and also evenings and weekends.
Salary: £14.12 per hour
Location: Seacroft, Leeds. Near Fearnville Playing fields.
Main purpose: To provide physical support to enable a young, intelligent person to do day to day activities.
Main Tasks:
- To provide personal care support for hair washing and dressing etc.
- To assist in the preparation of meals, and hot drinks and the associated kitchen duties.
- To assist in general household chores such as tidying, cleaning and washing.
- To prompt and assist with medication.
- To make hot water bottles.
- To scribe for admin including emails and university work.
- To assist in using a computer and other electronic devices.
- To assist in the preparation for the daily activities, eg packing a bag.
- To assist in accessing facilities and activities in the community eg changing for swimming.
- To maintain clear and accurate records as determined by the employer including timesheets and financial records and agree and sign the timesheets.
- To attend relevant training sessions.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the employer.
- To maintain and uphold the strictest confidentiality even after employment has ceased.

ESSENTIAL:
- Must be female (Female applicants required as some personal care is required)
- To be a good listener and follow instructions
- To have a positive attitude and an open mind to disability
- To be able to cook and clean
- To be able to work on own initiative
- To be willing to be flexible and available
- To have a patient and caring attitude
- To be willing to learn
- To be reliable and punctual
- To be organised and have good timekeeping
- To be willing to work in the same room as an assistance dog
- To have a good level of verbal and written English
- You must have the right to work in the UK. The government does not consider this a skilled workers position
- You must complete a DBS check for this role
DESIRABLE:
- To be able to swim
