Experienced Male Care Worker – Palliative & End-of-Life Care – Leeds
Optimum Care (Nottm) Ltd is recruiting experienced male Care Workers to provide domiciliary palliative and end-of-life care to people in their own homes across Leeds.
We are looking for compassionate, dependable and experienced carers who understand the particular needs of people who are seriously ill or approaching the end of life.
The role includes providing person-centred personal care, washing and dressing, continence care, oral care, repositioning, mobility and moving-and-handling support, nutrition and hydration support, medication support within assessed competency, monitoring changes in condition and maintaining accurate care records.
Care Workers will help maintain each person's comfort, dignity, privacy and quality of life and provide calm and sensitive support to service users and their families.
Workers must be able to recognise and promptly report changes such as pain, breathlessness, agitation, confusion, skin changes, reduced food or fluid intake or other signs of deterioration. You will work closely with senior staff, community nurses, GPs and other health and social-care professionals in accordance with the individual's care plan.
